The "Role Setup" module provides administrators with the tools to manage and maintain defined user roles within the system. This module facilitates searching, viewing, adding, editing, deleting, and exporting role-specific data, crucial for controlling user permissions and access levels.
List of Roles Table
The "List of Roles" table presents a comprehensive overview of all defined user roles in the system.
The table provides the following columns for each role entry:
| Column Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Checkbox | A checkbox associated with each row, enabling selection of one or |
| multiple role entries for potential batch operations. | |
| SL | Sequential serial number of the role entry within the current page. |
| Role Name | The unique name assigned to the user role. |
| Need OTP Verification | Can be binary value True or False |
| Actions | Contains icons that enable specific operations to be performed on the respective role entry. |
Filter and Pagination
- Filter Text Box: Enter keywords into the "Filter..." text box located above the table. The table will dynamically filter rows to display only entries that contain the entered text.
- Pagination Controls: Located at the bottom-right of the table, these controls (e.g., "1," "2," "Next," "Previous") allow navigation through multiple pages of results if the list is extensive. A dropdown menu enables users to select the number of rows displayed per page (e.g., "10," "25," "50"). The display also indicates "X of Y row(s) selected," showing the current count of selected rows out of the total.
Actions
Row-Specific Actions Each role entry within the "List of Roles" table includes actionable icons under the "Actions" column:
- View/Details Icon (Eye icon): Select this icon to display the complete details of a specific role configuration in a read-only format.
- Edit Icon (Pencil icon): Select this icon to modify the attributes of an existing role configuration. This action will typically open a form allowing data input.
- Delete Icon (Trash Can icon): Select this icon to remove a role configuration from the system. Caution is advised: This action is irreversible and may impact system functionality if the role is assigned to active users. A confirmation prompt will usually appear before deletion. Global Actions Located in the upper-right quadrant of the screen, these buttons perform actions applicable to the entire module or selected entries.
- Add New +: Select this button to initiate the addition of a new role configuration to the system. Upon selection, a new form or modal window will appear, prompting the input of detailed information for the new role. Complete all required fields as per system guidelines.
Exporting Data
The data presented within the "List of Roles" table can be exported into various common formats for reporting or external use:
- Excel: Select the "Excel" button to download the current list of roles in Microsoft Excel format (.xlsx).
- PDF: Select the "PDF" button to generate and download a PDF document of the displayed list.
Column Customization
- Columns Button: Selecting this button will reveal a dropdown menu, allowing users to select or deselect specific columns for display within the "List of Roles" table. This feature enables tailoring the table view to specific preferences or reporting requirements by showing or hiding unnecessary columns.
